Once you start shopping, it's really hard to stop. Bought 2 pairs of shoes, pants, skirt and shirt. OK but most stuff was really cheap, à la H&M prices. 13 bucks for a skirt! Ya can't beat that. Also, it's amazing how much money you can save by shopping at Chinese grocery stores. You can get a whole chicken for 5 bucks! (vs. the more than 9 bucks you pay at Loblaws..)
Watching Yun and James converse over MSN webcams felt very much like 'big brother'. When you see a couple's connection, it's the small actions that they do that makes me think it might all be worthwhile. (I miss james, I miss yun more --> barfy but sweet too)....However, I don't need more sappy pictures, James.
South African Gala Dinner (www.cancosa.com) celebrates 10 years of freedom for South Africa. It's hard for me to believe that apartheid still existed only 10 years ago. Of course, you can't change society's views overnight, but having policies saying that non-whites will not have the same opportunities as whites is nothing short of crazy to me. Watching videos of Nelson Mandela casting his vote for the first democratic election was very moving. Are we really all that different?
Funny things that night. Hippo Creek (I belong there!), Girl in red dress(seems to appear everywhere), woman tearing up the dance floor with a cane, shake that a*s (watch yourself!), my name is Prince (and I am funky!). Food was good, except..where was the cake? Hm sorbet is something to cleanse the palate (not as an 'official' dessert dish).
The word is "picqued" (peaked?).
Woke up Sunday morning to eat. This is becoming a weekly ritual. I thought about going to the gym. Surprise for me to see Jason sending me an icq saying that he's going to the gym and would be home in time for brunch. Oh how lazy do I feel. Well there's a Cora's in Newmarket. The menu's have changed since I'd last been. Love the food tho..I got eggs benedict w/ brie and mushrooms..and lotsa fresh fruit. Yum.
Finally saw Kill Bill. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be (the gory-ness that is). It's weird, but it's not like it was a 'suffering' kind of violence (if that makes any sense). Cartoon-ish violence, which makes it easier to stomach. Now I'm ready for Kill Bill 2. (David Carradine! I am Cain. I will help you. hahaha)
Leafs lose. Again. Oh well...the pizza and beer was good :P
This isn't trouble.
